Alfa Medics is excited to continue its “I am healthy and this is my choice” campaign, an initiative focused on promoting health and wellness within the community. Launched in March, this campaign has seen a series of engaging activities aimed at educating children and their families about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
One of the highlights of this campaign is the involvement of Alfa Medics’ digital Ambassadors who spread messages about self-care and health within their virtual communities.
The campaign also features interactive events for children, where they get to meet and learn from medical professionals.
Today, our team visited Stapolin Educate Together NS, a school in North Dublin. Dr Angela Parvu Bratulescu engaged with students aged 9-12 in an enlightening discussion about what it means to be healthy.
Dr. Angela addressed various topics, including the benefits of reducing screen time, the importance of staying hydrated, the healthy food for life, and the optimal amount of sleep needed for maintaining good health.
Dr. Angela shared her insights with the children, emphasising: “Health is not just avoiding illness, but about making choices every day that contribute to our overall well-being.”

Dr. Angela’s Six Pillars of Health
During the event, Dr. Angela covered six critical topics to help children understand and embrace a healthy lifestyle:
Overall Well-Being:
- Why being healthy is awesome? More energy, better focus, feeling great, preventing sickness, and always being at your best.
Super Food for Super Kids – Eat the Rainbow:
- Red: apples, strawberries, and tomatoes.
- Orange: carrots, oranges, and sweet potatoes.
- Yellow: bananas, corn.
- Green: broccoli, spinach.
- Blue/Purple: blueberries, grapes, eggplant.
The Magic Drink: Why Water Rocks:
- It keeps you hydrated, and helps you think and play better.
Get Moving and Grooving – Sports:
- Activities like soccer, basketball, dance, and hiking.
Sleep Like a Champion:
- It helps your body recover and grow.
Power Down the Screens:
- The importance of reducing time spent on gadgets.
Stay Fresh and Clean:
- Maintaining good hygiene practices.
To make the event even more enjoyable, Dr Alfie, our newly created mascot representing Alfa Medics, made a special appearance, bringing joy and enthusiasm to the students while reinforcing the campaign’s message in a fun and memorable way.
As part of our ongoing efforts, the campaign will continue to visit more groups of youth across Dublin, bringing valuable health education to children of all ages. These visits aim to empower students with the knowledge and motivation to make healthier choices in their daily lives.
Stay tuned for more updates and activities from the “I am healthy and this is my choice” campaign. Together, we can inspire a healthier future for our community.
